Our Story

Convert To Digital started as part of Disc Hounds, a company founded in 1998.

Back then, the focus was on helping musicians produce CDs. It was the height of the CD era, and bands needed a reliable way to turn their recordings into something they could sell and share.

Over time, things started to change.

Customers began bringing in more than just music projects. They showed up with VHS tapes, camcorder footage, film reels, photo slides, and old audio recordings and they were looking for a way to save them.

As technology moved forward, those older formats became harder to use and more likely to deteriorate. Tapes wear out, film fades, and equipment to play them becomes harder to find.

That’s where we naturally shifted.

What started as CD production expanded into media transfers.  Helping people convert older formats into digital files so they could be watched, shared, and stored more easily.

As that side of the business continued to grow, it made sense to create a dedicated service focused entirely on it.

That became Convert To Digital.

What We Do Today

Today, Convert To Digital focuses on one thing:
turning older media into modern, easy-to-use digital formats.

We convert:

• Videotapes (VHS, camcorder tapes, and more)
• Film (8mm, Super 8, 16mm)
• Audio (cassettes, reel-to-reel, records)
• Photos, slides, and negatives

The process is simple; customers bring in or send their items, we digitize them, and return both the originals and digital copies on USB, hard drive, or download.

A Local Company

We’re based in West Chester, PA, and have been serving the local community for decades.  All of our digitizing work happens right here in our local store.

While technology has changed a lot since 1998, the goal has stayed the same:

Help people keep and use their media in whatever format works today.

Why It Matters

Most people have boxes of old tapes or photos stored away somewhere.

Digitizing them isn’t complicated, but it is important. Once those formats degrade or become unplayable, the content can be lost.

Convert To Digital exists to make that process easy and reliable.
